Double Board-Certified Means Demonstrated Success For Clients
Being double board certified is a sign of attorney Poncio’s commitment to his clients. The Texas Board of Legal Specialization has very stringent requirements for board certification. It requires years of demonstrated skills and personal references from judges and other attorneys who practice in the same area of law. Board certification is granted only after a documented history of successfully protecting the rights of clients, completing 60 hours of Texas Board-approved continuing legal education courses and passing a comprehensive six-hour test.
Roughly 6 percent of lawyers in Texas are board certified in a single area of law. The number of lawyers certified in two areas of law is a tiny fraction of that 6 percent.
